Whats missing??

ok so my pics are good but seem to be missing that "pop" ,"professional look" please advise??? I would love to start my own business but need to fix my pics first. Please help!

Knowing you need to learn how to create better images is definitely a good start. The main problem with these is the lighting is lousy. The first two are in splotchy shade, with lots of hot shots, and the last one also looks like it was taken in pretty direct sun. A good first step is to find some nice shade to photograph in. If you really want the pop of professional photos, you will need both sharp, fast glass and to learn how to use available lighting to its best advantage as well as working with off camera lighting.

#1 ... Lighting is not very good. Heavy shadows on the faces yet areas on the girl's cheek that are nearly blown out. No real composition, just kind of shoot what's there. Pieces of arms and legs here and there. Top of the girl's head cut off.

#2 ... Can't really tell since it's sideways. Again, poor lighting with heavy shadows competing with near blown-out areas. A lot of busy items such as the white flowers on the right side dragging my eye away from the subject.

#3 ... Best of the three but his ear is cut off as are his fingers.

These probably mean something to the parents but to me they are really just snapshots.

The lighting needs a lot of work as does the composition. Lighting needs to be even across the subject or the shadows used to enhance the subject. It takes more than just sticking them outside and firing away. Learn to use your flash and reflectors. Learn to use available light and reflectors. Learn about depth of field and how to use it to enhance a photograph. Learn about composition; the Rule of Thirds, leading lines, and so forth.

Before we start seeing all kinds of responses here, let me put it real simple for you:

There's no shortcuts or easy ways or one-button-settings to get a pro look in your photos... The only way it's to LEARN how to do it by reading A LOT, shooting EVEN MORE and looking at other people's work (and comments he/she receives) too.

Do you really think someone will appear here and tell you the magic secret so you can get better overnight and start your own business tomorrow morning?

Now, these photos aren't bad, so keep it up and next time try to ask more specific questions or (even better) use the search function to see if someone asked that before

Lighting is bad. Its patch coming through the trees. noob mistake. Framing is poor as well. Crops are tight on some.

The standing pose has bad lighting and needed a shallower depth of field. Like this....
