Whats the best flash for a beginner?

Bought that Neewter flash from Amazon just because of the price, but Im not really expecting much from it. Plus I see that most cheap flashes only work in manual mode? Hows that?

Yes, most cheap flashes will not support TTL. I bought the YG656 EX because of that reason and honestly, aside from the first few times I used the flash, I have not used TTL. By day 2 I was learning how to fire it manually and have not looked back. I paid like $120 for my flash I think? I would buy it again. Great unit, solid build and the only weakness is recycle time. The only person I would not recommend it to is a wedding photographer and that's because of the recycle times for spraying and praying.
