What's the difference between these two lenses?

Both are Nikon 70-200mm. Looks like one is a little newer with VR II.

Is this a major difference?

Worth the extra money?

All I know is the VR II is the replacement of the first version. And from what I read, the new version has a major improvement on corner sharpness when used in a FX body.
