If your security scan doesn't find it, consider just checking your browser's extensions/add-ons. Sometimes these things get "installed" somehow, I know not how, and they *might* appear to a security scanner to be benign. Zap any extensions and add-ons that you don't recognize!

Just for the record there was over 600,000 mac got slamed from a trojan thanks to Java one of the most exploited programs to have on any rig.I can keep a windows just as secure if not more secure then a mac.It's all about hardening the system from the Kernel on up but still be usable at the same time.That dont mean 10 third party security apps either.The more security programs on the system the more room for attack surface.

I have windows 7 Windows 8 and OS-X mac I also ran a dual boot windows with Unix Fedora and Ubuntu at one time and keep or kept them all secure.
