What's Your Photography Weakness?

So what's your photography weakness? Is there something that you have a hard time with, or can't get to work for you?

Creative composition.... photographing something common and making it interesting. I've seen people photograph a pencil on a desk, and I can look at the photograph for mintues. I try the same thing, and it looks like a picture of a pencil.

I think my biggest problem is only looking at the subject. When I do, I just try to think how to get the correct exposure and get it framed correctly... and completly forget about all the other things... background, background lighting, aesthetic lines, light reflections, DOF....

I guess that's why I never leave the beginner forum though.

Time. I have a problem going out to actually shoot pictures to get better.

Location. I can take thousands of photos when I am on vacation and very few when I am home. I need more vacations.

Time. I wish I had the time to really expose my camera's full potential.

Time as well....i think there are just so many pics you can take around the house and around the area you work in. I also love to read about photography and just haven't had the time.

My biggest weakness is that I rush myself. I don't know why.. but I can sit there for an hour thinking about how I want to take a photo, but as soon as I get behind my camera, I rush.. and I don't know why. It's 10x worse when I'm shooting people in a controlled setting.

Really annoying habit I'm trying to break.

I would reccomend you both look around your house for "interesting" compositions. Photography doesn't always have to be about an object as a subject, it can be purely about effective composition and light. Try it in the morning, noon and night. See how light changes things/forms/shapes in your house. This is great practice for learning about composition.

My biggest problem right now is getting the guts to ask people if I can take photo's of them.

Once people knows what you do, THEY ask you to take photos of them.
Its part of the process.;)

Flash...

And being outgoing enough to try things in public like street photography, candid photography, etc. I'm a really shy person by nature so when I try to do those kind of things I end up getting nervous any going home...

Photography itself...

That is what I was thinking also.

Exposure, composition, lighting. I think are the top of mine but isnt that just about everything??

Time is getting me also. I need to get a good backpack for my gear so it can stay in the truck. I have the Elan7e in the truck all the time, but it would not be a big deal for it to be broken, as for the new 40D I would not be happy if I broke it.

Bitter, that is why I set up studio lighting and started working on lighting technique and portraits. Cure for the cabin fever.

You didn't really understand what I was getting at though.
