When does an IS lens work?

I tried a VR lens at a store once .. I didn't like it, it kinda made me feel sea-sick. Anyone else experience that? Or is it just me? :p

Thats the nice thing about the sony (minolta) system. sensor moves, lens stays still :)

My S3 IS will make you feel slow sometimes when the IS is really doing a lot of work...but it makes for nicer pictures!

There's still the debate about which is better.

I had a Olympus fan boy (yes, he really was) claim that the IS in lens is expensive and buying IS again and again is redundant.

What he failed to mention is that similar lenses like the Olympus 35-100 f/2.0 which cost $2100 is a lot more than the equivalent Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS which is $1700 at most.
