This is not about politics or what side is right or wrong, it is more about what happens when communication breaks down, because these truths are universal and apply to you and me as well in our everyday lives even, not just in war times.

Well not anything you really can say on this particular subject without introducing politics, but this thing has a ton of stuff involved here other than just a simple breakdown in communication.

Nothing to say without getting political.

I will say as of the last few month I have taken a "News" hiatus. I was getting so bummed out on a daily basis by the gossip, tragic events, political BS that I needed a break. I realized that in 99.9% of the cases there was nothing I could do either way so why worry about it.

Ok well than put it this way. We all wear the mask of civilization. This mask is held on by a very flimsy string. Under that mask is the primal animal that is just waiting to get out. That animal is just waiting for an excuse to take off tha tmask and go wild. Riots, natural disaster, sports victories etc.. all show how quickly civilized people can revert into wild animals.

In the grand scene of things, civilization is such a new invention for the human race. We've been around for hundreds of millions of years and yet how recently did we as a population decide that beating woman was bad, or murdering someone, or raping someone, or rejecting someone because of their race? in the 60's we still didn't let black people vote or drink from the same fountains for godsake that was only 50 years ago. In the 40's it still was considered ok to slap your wife when she was getting "mouthy". In the 20-30's black people were still lynched. That is just in the united states, in other countries it's still acceptable to mutilate the genitals of females and other horrors.

So yeah we are all just big dumb violent animals. A gorilla in a fancy hat.

Mr hamlet, thanks for posting. The images are stunning, descriptive and do show the emotions that raise when you are living with death at your doorstep. Reuters and Getty are the top of the mountain for those kind of images. So what else are you really saying? Kill or be killed is the modus operandi for the combatants, and the ones with the greater force, or greater precision, or better training, or a combination of such, will prevail. Always. Score the win for the Israelis, eventually.Are you looking for right or wrong? Morality and conscience are the inevitable first casualties in human conflict. There are no politics for the souls on either end of a bayonet. Just my opinion. Because I know.
