Which is better?

Two very similar, comparable shots. C &C requested.

Both are in the same location, moments apart. One has a bit of a tilt and is horizontal, but I really like the feel of the shot. The other is a standard shot, with portrait (vertical) orientation - which I know many people prefer. Do you like one or two. Both or neither?

Both done with all natural light.

first looks powerful...but i feel the bg less cluttered. ..second a normal portrait.

I prefer the first. The texture in the background is nice, and there is a bit of natural framing. The second is a good, standard portrait (though a little "hot") but doesn't have as much character.

Yup, first for me, too.

The texture is nice, without being overwhelming. The second one is safe, but a bit boring.
