Which lens to buy for shooting indoor Basketball??

New to the forum..my first post....looks like there is a lot of good info here. I have the 70-200 2.8 IS that I use for basketball, but it seems like that lens is too long a lot of the time for the near end action. I have the 50 1.8, but it seems too far and soft. Can anyone recommend the 24-70 2.8L?

I typically shoot volleyball and basketball at around 70-90mm. So I guess that's another vote for a fast 85mm lens. Rather than try to frame every pic exactly, I tend to shoot a little bit wider and crop.
