Like it says, which is the better? And why.
I was mainly concentrating on composure here, bot anything else you want to add feel free.

I think the second image is the most potential-filled one, although the one with the close-up of the blossom + insect MIGHT have been able to be adjusted so that there is a more-interesting image revealed in the shadows--that is, if it had been made in raw capture mode with a modern d-slr camera. I know you're using a smartphone, so that means the image was shot in JPEG capture mode, so the shadow areas are probably forever lost.
