I like the idea of one standing out among the others in the first one.

I much prefer the second one personally. I don't like the idea of that gorgeous yellow being darkened down like it is in the first one. But that's just me!

Hmm. Nice idea but the original photograph looks quite bland so the final image doesnt reli have that much impact. Try it again getting in closer to the flowers using a macro lens if possible.

Nice try.
I prefer the second, because the first one looks fake.
Try to desaturate the background instead of darken it, perhaps you have a better result.
A crop on lower and right parts will be good as well.
If you do it again, post here. We will like to see it.
