Which would be better

I'm wanting to purchase a lens with longer reach for shooting wildlife. I'm interested in the Tamron 150-600mm G2. Would the Canon 100-400mm with a 1.4 teleconverter be better than the Tamron?
Would the Canon with converter take better images? I know reach would be a little less and far end aperture would be a little more. Just want some thoughts as to what would be better?

I can't speak to the specifics of either lens, but in general, in all but the very best lenses using matched tele-converters, you will always get better results without a TC
