What is we throw the Tokina 80-200 2/8 in the mix. Thoughts on these?

Never used one myself - as I recall from the reading I did most folks mentioned they were generally slower to autofocus than the Nikkor 80-200 mm and not quite as good optically.

Pixmedic might still have the TOkina 80-200/2.8 his buddy gave him recently up for sale...not sure...he just got it not long ago.

i briefly had this lens.
it was a tank. metal body. hefty.
screw drive AF, so you need a camera with an in body focus motor to use the AF.
AF was fairly quick, drive wasn't terribly noisy, and it was pretty sharp even wide open.
i would certainly recommend it.
