Who better to test out the new strobes on?

I picked up a set of strobe lights and a backdrop stand (finally).

The wife was out for the evening. After dinner I setup the studio in our bedroom while Noah watched the wiggles. Lighting in this was one softbox with the white wall on the right serving as a very good bounce.

What exactly is a strobe light, by the way?
I have learnt only yesterday or the day before what a softbox is (JonK showed us his new setup in an extra photo, thanks again ), now I would really like to know what strobe lights are.

I REALLY like that second shot! Both very nice.

And, Corinna... a "strobe" is simply another way to describe any electronic flash.
