no dispute here, read it carefully, its a real situation of some charlatan trying to take advantage, but i am aware allot of those exist here lol

bring it on trolls

aint got the experience or answer, typical NIKON owners, you should of paid for a camera that takes great photos not one your teachers know well from the 70s

ofcourse its not the camera it the user in reality

You have already been given the answer:

So give B a marketing credit, and that is all.

Consider this a learning experience... not to get involved with people like B... and to ALWAYS get a contract signed by ALL parties involved, so everyone knows what they are getting. How old are you, out of curiosity?

So aside from taking photos/video (which you all get credit for right?) A gets credit for all post production, editing and so on, B gets marketing.

i finally understand how you see it

Canon is person a
Nikon is person b
Leica is person c

i think you got the point its time to get out of the closet and face the facts, some slrs can now shoot as good videos

In the first place, what difference does it make? (See Third place)

In the second place, without a contract stating exactly what everyone is supposed to do it's a moot point. (See Third place)

In the third place, how about this: Among the three people, "A", "B", and "C" the job got done so everyone gets equal credit.

If you expect life to be fair and equal you've got a lot of growing up to do. The owner of the company I work for seldom touches any of my projects. He does, however, get a lot of the credit. As a matter of fact, since his name is on the door and mine isn't he gets virtually all of the credit. Such is life. Deal with it.

Face the facts? Which facts? The fact that you claim to own a multi media business yet aparantly dont understand how contracts and production credit works? Or the fact that you are asking an internet forum legal questions about crediting copyrighted material when you should be asking a lawyer with your contract in hand?

Who should credit go to since we did this for free and who should the credits go to if we got paid?

How much you get paid (including being paid nothing) hasn't any effect on the credits itself.

So give B a marketing credit, and that is all.

+1
You need to learn to sort out who is specifically doing what BEFORE a project takes place. Even if its for free or charity if its a serious project get it sorted out and on paper then signed by all parties. At least then you know what you're expected to deliver and what each other person is going to contribute.

Also what did person C do?
cool, your real person and not a troll here, thanks for posting :

Person c was credited as a photographer, like a and b, he did nothing else.

Before person a, b and c started this they all agreed that they where three photographers, nothing else.

Then:
1-Person b proposed to a that the client (his cousin) will be impressed by videos & they should collaborate & make one together for the reception there is a projector and screen set up already.
2-Person c did not agree and decided to stay out of it,

Person b asked person a how to go about it
3-person a suggested to person b to take copies of all their photos and videos and create a short video of high lights from the events taken place at the wedding earlier in the day while

4
- person a will make a cartoon animation of the couple super imposed as a intro, then a video out of all the slide shows with music, and a music video as a nice finish,
Using adobe premiere to combine photos touched up in Photoshop and videos with year by year slide shows in iphoto, the rest was done after effects.

5
-After person a finished which turned out to be a 18 minute video, person b decided it was too much to do a video all the sudden, he preferred to stay home and relax before the reception.

6-The reception went perfect, everyone was touched, even impressed about the video, some told person b it was incredible, but person b complained that the credits where not correct at all.

8-Person b insists he produced part of this video because his images are used, not even acknowledging person c 's images and videos.

the credits went like this

Concept and Video by person a
Camera by person a, b , c
Editing by person a
Additional graphics and animation by person a

person b who only took photos and recorded some videos wants it to say his future company name was responsible for all of the above, not just photos, promising person a that he can use this to get more work.

just for the record, person b asked person a to make his business cards after been impressed by the way person a's used photoshop to make his own.,
Person a shared the template via email but after a week past person b called pretending he was still expecting person a to do it for him, spending more time ranting on about it then doing it,

My guess is person B either has no experience or is a serious charlatan,

btw person a is a old geezer, photography was just a hobby of his, he recently purchased 10k worth of equipement so it seems he also could be trying to appease his angry wife by pretending he runs a already successful business.

TL;dr (and if you knew me, you'd know that if even *I* think it's too long to read, it's WAY too long)

Seriously:
If you come on a forum and ask ridiculous questions, you're going to get ridiculous answers. Though, for the life of me, I can't figure out why you think THIS is trolling:
So give B a marketing credit, and that is all.

Consider this a learning experience... not to get involved with people like B... and to ALWAYS get a contract signed by ALL parties involved, so everyone knows what they are getting. How old are you, out of curiosity?

THAT *is* your answer.

Also--posting a ridiculous question and then calling all the regular posters on the forum trolls for responding with levity isn't really a great way to endear yourself to the rest of us, and make us want to try to help. Not that we could anyway. Sounds like you have a mess on your hands because you had no contract, you just started doing more and more and now you find yourself embroiled in a battle of egos. Good luck with that.

I cant tell the difference between sarcasm or being a dick from your post. It seems like you only want 1 answer, person A. So there's the answer you came here for!

Love a new "NIKON" user

no i wanted a answer someone with experience can share because with experience one knows how to create the happy ending where everyone gets paid, nothing compromised even legally,

for those who say too bad you had nothing in writing how on the world do you get by with out trust, you sound like sharks and hypocrites, sorry, read your own writing on the walls carefully, trust is only abused once.

Consider everyone on this forum persons D through Z.

A lawyer isn't even in the alphabet, their #1.

We're photographers not a lawyers!

Key word is legal. find some who can give you legal advice for legal matters.

Trust is something I give to my wife not a business partner.

What are you blithering about? I appears that you understand very little and cannot see past the (Nikon) chip on your shoulder.

I love when person A comes into a forum with a problem and people B,C,D give suggestions and all person A can do is ***** like a little child. internetz iz funz.

Nah, the problem with allot forums are loaded with bored people hanging around trolling topics to just say anything.. they need attention or interaction, no big deal its clear.

The best example i can share from this thread is how sometimes some one who knows allot has no answer responds to a thread anyway because he or she believes they have to contribute to everything posted on every topic., sorry, but for every reason i love forums i do have to defend myself from those trolling on threads abusively flaming, anyone suggesting this is too complicated to understand and a lawyer is required is right on their part if they have no clue how to deal with this, it is a real life situation and something that happens allot,

And i feel sorry for those who failed to understand that someone here volunteered to demonstrate their skills at a wedding and hit walls with others trying to take the credit for it., nothing for hire here, all word of mouth and trust, could not get simpler then a a, b , c KISS simple explanation, but it seams that most here on this site not survive it if it was for hire with out a lawyer.

the rest sound like wanna bes used to pretending they took other peoples photos and like living in that sort of easier then said world.

Hope it was not over anyone bunnys head again
