who has expierience with flash diffusers ?

i am looking into buying a flash diffuser for my d60s pop up flash
do these actually work ?
are they worth it ?

Yeah diffusers or softboxes are worth it. Softens that light up from the harsh direct built-in flash.

Essentially the bigger the light source the softer the light - so using things like softboxes/umbrellas and bouncing off the ceiling make the light source larger and so give a softer light. This is why the popup flash gives much harsher light, its a tiny light source.

The item you list above is doing a similar thing, making the souce of light onto the subject larger and thus it will give you some diffusion yes. I would say at its cost its worth getting and using since it willl take the edge off the harsher popup flash light.

I have the Gary Fong, Amazon.com: Gary Fong Puffer Pop Up Flash Diffuser: Camera & Photo, and it works great. Be careful, because some of these things, not the new GFs, have a design defect and they break easily.
