We run desktops, laptops and off site Citrix machines. Never, ever, once have we ever had a user that said, please oh please take away my desktop/laptop and let me work with a Citrix machine. :lmao:

For the last two years we have been phasing out our Citrix machines and going to more expensive desktop's/laptop's. The funniest comment I have heard so far was that two years to phase out the Citrix machines was still faster than working on the Citrix machines. :lmao:

We use Citrix only as a remote office tool, sort of a VPN if you will.... although some users in remote offices use it as a desktop since the file server and the citrix cluster are in the same rack.... since all they get is video feed, it is much faster than pulling the files to their desktops. Sounds like you were running Citrix like thin clients? Dumb terminals on the user end? Don't think I would care for that.. we run full desktops / laptop for every user.

I have a two VM Citrix cluster, on a decent VM cluster. Average around 30 to 40 sessions per Citrix VM at any given time... never a problem! They complain about slowness when I shut down connections on one Citrix for upgrades... but normally never a complaint. Of course we have 100megabit MPLS to two of the field offices, and quad t1's to the other two... so bandwidth isn't usually an issue.

I'm the Citrix admin and the VMware admin... so I take good care of them!

Clients I have are just freaking happy they have more than XP on a Dell that still have a floppy drive.

Floppy drive? Whats that? lol! :greenpbl: ( I do keep a external USB floppy around for emergencies... but all users are weaned off floppies! Thank Goddess! )

There's nothing wrong with the artist, he was just goofing around.

Wired magazine is stupid, though. The eternal search for "cool" and mostly they miss. Because they're tasteless nerds, not actual cool people.

As for the work, I think it's kind of interesting. I don't think it says anything deliberately, but it certainly evokes something. Regular people made grotesque and freakish is a pretty potent theme. If it was easy, I'd probably go see a show of these photographs -- but not because I think the artist has anything to say (and he clearly did not, he makes no claims to that effect) but because I think my reactions would be interesting. The photos might make me think in interesting ways.

Not great art, but a kind of interesting serendipity, I'd say.
