who said new borns were easy to photograph? C&C

This is so much harder than I ever expect it to be. the baby was 10 days old and she slept all of her 10 days.....except when it came time to take her baby pics. she would not fall asleep at all. I shot about 150 shot but only got like 6 decent ones(these are not the best ones in my opinion but this what i edited for the mother) I shot late in the evening and she had been awake for a few hours so we fed her and changed her and warmed up the room but luck. any tips would be highly appreciated. And of course C&C is always welcomed. I know she would've looked way better without the thing she is sucking on. as soon as we removed it she would wake up and stat crying.

They both look underexposed. The pose and angle in 1 could have been better.
#2 would have worked if you shot closer to baby's head. I've never shot newborns but I'm sure it's gotta be tough! lol
The good thing is both pics are sharp
Oh, a little fill would have looked good maybe even a reflector if flash wasn't an option
