Found this guy in the lines in my backyard....just staring me. I thought maybe he was with the NSA.

He was patient enough to let me get my camera, but flew away when I got too close.

A bit soft, but that has been my experience when using the 2x teleconverter. Sure is handy to have, but not so sharp.

Nice shot. Did you use some flash, as I think I see a little "red eye" in its left eye.

WesternGuy....yes, it was very dark. I used a SB700 speedlight. I had a very hard time with autofocus, but one on my backyard light gave me just enough light for some hit or miss focus. I have some very out of focus shots with the owl looking directly at me, and then the red-eye is just amazing....two giant red glowing orbs.

Would you "fix" the red eye in this shot? I kinda like it.
