Hmm it would have to be a long roll to get that effect - I'm thinking something like the pinhole (or probably larger) placed infront of the lens - which caused the massive vignett as well as acting strange on the main subject.

Figured it could be just the way it was framed. If you cut off all that black, that is exactly what it looks like.
