Today was the first soccer match of the spring sports season. Everything else has either been rained or snowed out this week. Today was not much better with heavy rain and winds at a constant 20 mph with a measured gust up to 41 on the soccer field (it's nice that there's a weather station right there to look at the data for). I really hate shooting with rain covers on, especially in high winds. The only goal was in the first 10 seconds when the visiting team on the second touch launched a shot from mid field that the wind got a hold of and on the bounce put it over the keepers head.

One of the moms arrived late and as she walked to the bleachers I heard her comment.... "ohh, why is he wearing his new shoes and getting them all muddy?" Sometimes the things you hear on the sidelines just make you laugh. So I put together a cropped group of "shoe" shots from the match for fun.

Well, yes, why-o-why did they get their nice (!) shoes sooo muddy on the ground?!?!? ;) ;) ;)

Nice collection of details! I like the theme that goes with these. On a dry lawn, these would be meaningless (sort of), but with the water spraying about and the mud flying, they are fun to look at.

What's funny was I was listening to some Soccer players talk about their shoes earlier. They talked like the shoes were some new toy or something. I'm not an athlete so I don't get it.

At least you got a baseball game in, our ball fields look more like a wetlands reclamation project minus the cattails.

Really creative interpretation of a soccer match! :)

A lot of grain on the first one, is it an almost-100% crop?

Well done!

Ciao!
