My view is that whilst its good to have the camera with you; sometimes its good NOT to have it with you. It means you can enjoy a moment instead of distracting the moment with the camera ( because then part of that moment is forever filled with shutterspeed/aperture/focus/iso/frame/raising the camera/finding the thing in your pocket).
Enjoy the moments you see - learn to write a blog/diary so you can document what you do see in detail after the event.
Admit it you're just jealous you don't have a 500mm lens for that leica camera

I'm getting bored of shots like that a member in our club is mad on shooting natural history the judges love it but i'm starting to hate it ( just another bird on a stick)
