WiFi ....DSLR to tablet payback?

Does anyone make a wifi attachment which will transfer playback images to a tablet? Seems like it would help me make decisions on re-shooting, especially on focus and DOF needs.

If you mean still images, then you can eithe use a Wifi enabled SD card, or the Cam Ranger.

I use ezshare sd card. But your camera battery will deplete quick.

I use a WU-1a wifi adapter and a 10.1" tablet, the tablet is very light so I can carry it with me in the bag, when I need to I can plug in the wifi adapter and preview the images on the tablet. Not sure what camera system your using but I use Nikon, and they have free software for android that allows me to preview images on the camera from the tablet, or even use it as a remote to take pictures with - which is kind of cool.

I like it, allows me to preview things on a larger screen and see if maybe it's something I need to reshoot before I leave the location. I went with the adapter myself instead of the wifi enabled SD card because I use a very fast 95 mbs write card instead of a more standard 45 mbs which is what most of the wifi enabled cards are, so I didn't really want to step down in speed to get the wifi ability.

Thanks folks, all of the info seems like what I might need to improve my cameras use for its application..... first of all I'm using a 650D 18mp canon... One of my main applications is taking stills of artworks for reproduction. It is so very important for the entire photo to be in perfect focus and lighting..... with all of the years of computer use, jewelry repair, and painting fine details, I have worn my fine eyes to a frazzle of what they were. I spend most of my time trying to get a well focused shot without lighting issues. I feel that one of these methods could help a lot..... I think also, I could use it to better photograph macro jewelry shots for some of my ads... How do any or all of you feel about this plan?

Just wire the camera to a laptop and tether it.

I use an Eye-fi card in the 2nd slot of my camera, but the purpose for me is strictly instant gratification. It sends the pics to my phone if I'm not carrying my tablet.

But can I tether it and get control like with the CamRanger, which says you can micro adjust the focus? Tethering would be find if the camera can be communicated with thru the laptop or tablet. Their might be a software to do that....

Well, I have spent a couple of hours getting used to the Canon Utilities software it, and think I can get a lot out of it. At first I didn't find the focus fine tune, but it is located on the preview page away from the other settings. Once I located it, I am able to get the desired focus. In fact I don't think you can focus any tighter than you can view on the monitor. I see where the remote Cam Ranger, and the tripod rotary drive would really work well for outdoor macros, and general wildlife photography. I may be giving both of them a shot. I can see a bird landing on my camera and taking a crap.... Thanks again for all the help......

Will the Eye-fi card read files from the other card in your camera?

You would have to transfer the images in camera. I use a eye-fi so mom can see and buy while kiddie session is still going. My camera is optimized for that brand of Wi-Fi card. (D5100)
