Another stop on our northern lights chase. This bridge is aptly named and a little scary to walk across at night, especially the beginning to the small island is a jetty (on the right in photo 5) with no railings. I've been there once before in icy conditions to shoot the early milky way in March and we were unable to get down to the beach below the bridge so it was great to be there in the fall and have a lot of options on where to shoot from. Lights were not in every direction here like they were in Gloucester so we had to stick to the one side of the bridge. The first shot is a friend on the bridge.

Thanks! The bridge is crooked. It was really hard to get a straight frame.

Thank you.
Wonderful set of shots! The NL were even visible down here, but I didn't know that, so I slept through them.
There’s an app called Aurora Pro you can set an alert so that when the KP is going to reach a certain level, at whatever location you set it for, it will send you a notification on your phone.
Beautiful shots
Thanks!

I love this crooked bridge! So photogenic. The first shot is so cool looking, with the beam of light from your friend shooting up into the sky. I'd be tempted to crop off nearly the whole right side of the frame to only show the figure on the bridge, but that's me.

As far as getting an awesome perspective of that crooked bridge jutting into the sky, the two sides not at all in sync with each other, #4 is perfection! Best shot of the set.

You had a good night, my friend!

I did post a cropped version on Instagram. Normally, I wouldn’t center her like this, but I didn’t want to crop out any of the northern lights to the left and she’s facing to the right so I sort of left her in the middle. I added the Beam using a brush mask in Lightroom. How did I do?

I think it's awesome! Such a fun shot, and now the light beam is really part of the sky - so cool!!
