already have the 580 & 430?
you can pick up another 580 or 430; leave 580 on camera; sync & set 430's (or other) to sides; change ratio of master to slave to 1:8...

You really shouldn't need HSS or TTL off camera. Seriously.

It will probably just complicate things. One thing you always get with manual off camera flashes is consistency (Unless your batteries are low).

I agree, I bought Radio Poppers a while back thinking I would use the ETTL function but found that manual was the way to go. Pretty happy with the RPs. They have really good customer service also. I have 580 EXII and 430EX II as well.
