Wonder and light

Just one more before I take off for a week-long trip. First, I want to say that I am really enjoying sharing images and commenting on this site so far. I am looking forward to more when I get back.

This image is from a remote barrier island off the South Carolina coast. I slept just a few dozen feet from this exact spot to ensure I would catch the first light of the day. Initially, the dramatic sunrise I was expecting failed to materialize, but about an hour later, things really opened up for me. It made a sandy night of half-sleeping worth it.
