I was out kayaking on a local lake after 4 days of stormy weather. In fact I was the only one on the lake. Went to a spot where I'd knew there'd be Painted Turtles, hoping for a couple of film shots so I could finish the roll. Had my digital along also. Came across a Male Wood Duck in eclipse plumage on the way. When I arrived at the log I'd been aiming for, there were 3 turtles enjoying the day, and a Green Heron pacing back and forth. Took some fairly distant shots, but to my surprise the Heron and turtles let me get to within about 10 feet and acted like I wasn't there. Took the rare opportunity to take a number of film/digital shots. The middle turtle was the most interesting as far as angle's go. The Green Heron stolled down a branch and just stood there. These are the digital shots.
One of those memorable days when it just all works.....
