Thanks. They are a specie of special concern due to habitat loss and fragmentation of their habitat. The turtle's siting was documented by me with several images and the location of said observation was reported to my state's Wildlife Division. The turtle was left onsite undisturbed. Wood turtles are known to have life spans in excess of sixty years.
