Nice shots! I am too new to critique, but I always appreciate photos of birds.

Nice effort; dappled light is extremely difficult to work in. This would have been an ideal situation in which to use fill-flash. Here is a similar type of shot I did a couple of years ago with similar lighting, in which I used an on-camera speedlight for fill.

Hmm... I think I would've needed one heck of a fill flash as they were way up in the tree. xD
The only flash I have is my R1C1 macro set, I doubt that's gonna do the trick here.
