Xmas Present Growing

My son brought us an odd Xmas present this year. He gave us a green plastic bowl seemingly covered in a mound of assorted plastic bags. Our instructions were to cut holes in the plastic when they started to push out.

Right after taking the photo I harvested some and we fried it up in butter and garlic. Absolutely delicious. Now we're waiting to see if our son wasn't trying to collect his inheritance early.

Did that this evening for dinner and we ate the rest of that big clump you see in the photo. The young son said they were oyster mushrooms. They sure were tasty -- wow!

Bet that was a great meal.

I harvest a lot of wild mushrooms. Find them while out photographing. All of them have their own taste and compliment something else. Those that don't like mushrooms are missing out.
