Yashica 35EE

Good evening:
I recently purchased a Yashica 35EE from 1964. I have no knowledge or background in photography myself, but my father recently decided to start shooting again after a long break. Given the Christmas holiday, I wanted to get him a present that would further this endeavor. I got the idea to find a vintage camera to supplement his long lens. I was assured that with a battery and 35mm film, it is fully operational. I am wondering what I actually bought and what he should expect. Good camera? Quality photographs?

Oh Woah! A Yashica EE is the ultimate hipster, campy-retro camera. That's the one with the circular selenium meter surrounding the lens. The look just screams early 1960s. Pick up the Yashica EE and transport yourself right back to the set of Bewitched -- Paul Lynde would have used the EE. Or better yet imagine you're the secret agent Maxwell Smart snapping undercover photos of a KAOS plot to destroy America.

If it works it will take very good photos.
