The other day I was outside in shorts and a tshirt, this morning I woke up and it was winter again, 3 inches of snow overnight boooo!!
I'm so yearning for summer fields, heck anything other than white and brown outside will work!

Would love to hear your thoughts, thanks for taking a look.

Thanks John, yeah, I fiddled with the foreground crop a lot, I can see a little less working.

Hi Judi! Love the shot, but I'm with John - I'd suggest cropping the foreground to half, as it then serves as the base for the main actors, which are the cat-tails in the middle section. Otherwise, the foreground is quite massive visually and takes some emphasis away from the middle.

I'm with you wishing for summer. Personally, I think we pissed off Mother Nature and she's showing us her huffy side. I know in the old days, it was the sacrifice of virgins that was supposed to appease, but maybe we can update that with a little iPad offering? This is almost the end of April, and the only things in the yard that dared raise their heads as the crocuses and the blue-bells. Sigh.

Thanks Sleist :)

Paul, for a few years now it seems we have complained that spring has been so short, going from winter to everything blooming seemingly overnight, as you say this year everything is so slooooow, very few things are blooming and the trees are taking their time too, its such a tease!

Very nice! I like the edit, but both are very nice!

We had some flurries here this morning. :icon_crazy:

I bet your shorts and t-shirt weather would have STILL seen me in long pants and at least a medium-weight jacket!
And snow…that is long since a distant memory for us down here! April 7 seems to be the latest date in history that we have ever seen snow--and thankfully, we did NOT see any that late this year. I don't think I would have made it through one more snow.

It did get really cold here last night, though--unseasonably cold, near freezing! It's still only 38F right now, but should warm to the low 70s and tonight's low looks to be much more seasonable, low 50s.

I do dig that shot, especially the edited one! Hang in there, you'll be seeing that scene again soon!

Thanks Waday, we had some this morning too, icicles on the grapevines too, boo!!

Ha Sharon, yeah you would probably have had a jacket on when I was in the shorts, mind you it was almost 20 degrees! Then two days ago we went down to 0 and had to start the fire again :( I'll take your word for it that those fields will grow soon but at this point I'm losing hope lol

This is wonderful. What I wouldn't give to see the world this way. A river of grass flowing around an emerald city. Thank you for sharing.

But on the flip side, once things do start to grow, they'll be trying to make up for lost time. Greenery explosion! In front of our eyes! (ok, I'm hopefully exaggerating).

There ARE signs that spring is about to arrive. The geese have been flying (in the right direction), the squirrels are being frisky, there have been robins on the ground, and I saw the first blue-jay show up. No cardinals yet. And the mountains of snow have melted (except perhaps for the darkest ditches, and I'm not going to check that).

And yet, there are snowflakes fluttering down at the moment. :boggled:

Thanks so much Gary!

Paul, bring on the greenery imho!
There are signs here too, some of our feeder birds have returned, lots of sparrows and finches, saw the Rose Breasted Grosbeak yesterday, Grackles and Cowbirds but still waiting on the Hummingbirds and Orioles. Our resident geese are home and setting up for their new family on the pond teasing the heck out of Alice lol They see her and start honking, wait for her to allllmost get there and either fly slowly away or play "this side that side" on the pond with her lol I guess there is some hope! ;)

That's a really nice image! I got to thinking............... I don't think I've ever yearned. I may have "pined" a few times, but I've never yearned. :biggrinangelA:
