hey everyone. Photography has been a hobby of mine for several years but lately I've become really enthusiastic about it. Got a few magazines, and was looking for a good forum and I've been told this is the best one so here I am.

I only have a Sony Compact digital camera but looking to get a Nikon, one of the more professional looking point and shoot cameras (wouldn't get a DSLR until I knew for sure I was gonna make a career out of it.)

Don't get one because it "looks" professional ... are you talking about the new mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras (MILC) ?

Nah, it's an extended zoom camera. And I've read reviews and tried out a demo at Futureshop so i know it's good.
