Your Most Disappointing Purchase

Mine is my 70-200 2.8 IS. (snip) Most of the time I don't need anything that long and when I do need a telephoto it isn't long enough. Probably should have went 100-400 or Bigma or something along those lines.

I can totally empathize with that. I don't have any need for a focal length between 85 and 300mm. My 70-300 NEVER gets used below 280mm or so, which even then is just because it's easier to compose by zooming out a bit.

Even though it didn't cost me much, and many of you will call me crazy, my own most disappointing purchase was the 50mm 1.8D lens. There's no denying its popularity and price/performance ratio, which is why I bought it in the first place, but I was just not that impressed by it and sold it 2-months after I bought it. It was way too narrow on DX for my liking. For everyday shooting, I'd prefer my 35 instead. For portraits, my 85 fits the bill.

I quickly found out that I should have gotten the SB 600 instead.

Oh well, I use flash so rarely that it doesnt really matter.
