Look for a Cokin P series setup. Focus on two types of filters to start. Color Correction (reds, blues, yellows, etc.) and Neutral Density (solid and graduated). This will alllow you to better control local contrast in your negs and also to give you better control over the light and a greater range of exposure values at hand. IMHO. For what that's worth.
