Can I get MORE FPS???

I was reading on a site today that there is a different battery you can get for the Nikon D300 that allows you to get 8fps instead of the 6fps that it is set for.

"Continuous shooting up to 6 frames per second, and up to 8 frames per second with the Optional MB-D10 Multi-power Battery Pack,"

Is there such a thing for the D50 or D40???

Nope, sorry it is just for the D300 and D700.
You can get grips for other cameras, but they will not boost the frame rate.
