Canon 1D Question - Is it broken?

I've just recently picked up a used canon 1D mkII. Amazing camera, I cna't get over how fast the shutter is!

But anyway, I have a problem - there is no viewfinder display. I'm talking about the infomation shown along the bottom such as aperture, ISO, shutter speed etc, all the useful stuff. It should be there but it isn't.

I've RTFM and can't find anything about it. Help?!

Im pretty sure that is what gsgary uses you may want to message him! Good luck. Oh and congrats on the new camera!

Try custom funtion 1 and set it to 1 Finder display
All that comes up in mine is M (manual), shutter speed, aperture, Focus confirmation only comes on in one shot, there are lots of settings in Custom funtions

Thanks for the replies - I'll try the custom functions and factory reset when I get home from work. I have called the local canon service agent and they are also supposed to be getting back to me with any possible solutions so it will be interesting to see what they say.
