Choosing a picture style ?

Yes, me again with my questions, lol.

I would like to know do you guys select a picture style (standard, portrait, landscape, neutral, faithful.....) when you shoot ?
Do you change it often ?

I shoot in RAW, so it doesn't matter.
(actually, my camera doesn't have picture styles)
 
You're talking about those settings that change the look of the picture (dunno what they are or what they change), and not the auto-modes, right?

Either way, I also shoot RAW and never mess with either. Even if I'm ever shooting in jpeg for something, I leave those alone.
 
i shoot in jpeg more than raw currently, and i believe it was in the book 'understanding exposure' that the guy had said he shot with a custom neutral style and since then i've been using it and my pictures do seem a lot better. the setup was:

neutral style with +2 sharpness, +1 contrast, +1 saturation

i set that as one of my user defined styles in the camera instaed of modifying one of the presets.
