Nikon d1x vs alpha a100

Interesting... well with Minolta's film Dynaxes they released the 9 before the 7... with the digital ones they released the 7 and no 9... my guess would be that the 'advanced amateur' model will be first as there will be more of an immediate market for it, but I'm no expert.
 
By the way, Funky, I don't need a pro camera either. I don't shoot for money any longer. That's why I use consumer level cameras effectively and happily.

I should mention that reliability is important in the studio as well because time is money and equipment failures are still costly. Ruggedness, however, is not so important in the studio since the equipment has less chance of being abused. However, the most reliable equipment is generally the most rugged as well.
