10th but it feels good

People like my work, but I feel like a hack 98% of what I do is through feeling and not much actual technically taught ability...I'm still broke...but I managed this year to get the courage to enter the international loupe awards...Rather enter the amateur section I went the all in and entered an image in the open section...I didn't win but placed 10th...For me I take that as a win...here it is... I hope you like it.

If this is the work of a hack, I should be drawn and quartered for the photographic vomit I have displayed here.

Please stop selling yourself short. It gives some of the rest of us a complex.

I looked at the gallery, and the winner was an ironic composition. #2 was a fantastical tableau of a mermaid apparently defending her domain. #3 was a headshot of a rather strange fellow. #4 looks like they ripped off one of Chris's backgrounds. #5 was a photoshopped-Santa trying out a new delivery vehicle. #6 is more drawing than photography. #7 appears to be a clever photoshop of smoke tendrils into an image of a bull. #8 is a strange one of a girl in a dress, standing in surf and holding a fish. #9 is a top view of a bunch of naked bodies of both genders, covered with gold paint.

Supposedly all of them showed greater creativity and originality than Chris's image. I dunno. You'll need to judge that for yourself. The 2014 International Loupe Awards | Photography Competition
