People like my work, but I feel like a hack 98% of what I do is through feeling and not much actual technically taught ability...I'm still broke...but I managed this year to get the courage to enter the international loupe awards...Rather enter the amateur section I went the all in and entered an image in the open section...I didn't win but placed 10th...For me I take that as a win...here it is... I hope you like it.

Creative, capable, challenging. Chris, for a "hack", you certainly seem to have a lot of talent and skill. A top-10 finish is certainly not shabby for an international competition. As for being "broke", that is the fate of most talented artists, since talent and skill don't directly translate to income without some very serious marketing and self-promotion and luck.
