$1400 budget, need camera+lens for sports

Based on experience with both the D90 and the D300, get the D300. It has the Multi-CAM 3500DX - 51 point, 15 cross-type points, auto focus modual, while the D90 has the Multi-CAM 1000 - 11 point, 1 cross-type, auto focus modual.

Yeah I totally agree. Well see what the budget finds me, but I'd definitely prefer a d300. Of course then I have to invest in CF cards too :/
