1500mm in the backyard

Finding the bird in the view finder is quite a challenge.....these guys don't sit still long

what's making it 1500mm? that fact that the D7100 is an APS-C? That's a little misleading.

I was going to ask the same.

looks like your getting ready for the swamp trip. you will need it out there...

sometimes I will "cheat" and move the catch light so it looks more natural and not just straight on from the flash. I even change the saturation or color of it to make it look more natural if its got a color cast from the flash.

I'm also getting ready for Sunday, just in case the light is bad again

I'm also driving down this morning for a few hours but just w/ the d7100 + 80-400, weather says sunny
