Sorry to hear about your injury. My wife had shoulder surgery not long ago. She was in a lot of pain afterwards until she took the steroid shot. I recommend it. After that she was able to complete physical therapy.
As for me, arthritis in the hip always keeps me alert on where I step.

Also, just to provide closure on my earlier post--partial tear of the ACL, bone bruise. After meeting with multiple orthopedics specialists, I'm opting for no surgery. Just prescription strength anti-inflammatories, an occasional knee brace, lots of PT, and avoiding high-impact sports.
