Ok, i'm very new to photography and only know the basics like zooming etc.

I own a Fujifilm Finepix A303 3.2MP. I was wondering what is shutter time and all these exposures that you seem to talk about

And my second question is: What is the best way of taking night photo's without buying any extra equipment?

Thanks in advance.

Well I don't know much about your camera besides checking out the data sheet on Fuji's website.

If you want an explanation of shutter speeds and aperture ksmattfish has a great thread in the general forum that is sticked. http://thephotoforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3362

As far as night photos are concerned, the lowest shutterspeed on your camera is 2 seconds. So you won't be able to get much done at night unless you're using flash.

I suggest doing some reading. Search for basic or beginner photography.

You have to start somewhere and you have come to a great place to learn about photography. It would probably be more beneficial to you if you did some reading and then asked this forum more specific questions.

Once you start to understand exposure, you can then start to understand your camera and use it more creatively.
