I have a Nikon D90 and am looking for my next lens which I want to be in the 28-35mm prime range.
Has anyone tried the new Nikon 35mm 1.8 lense ?
Also I am looking at these ones:
Nikon Wide Angle 28mm f/2.8 AIS Manual Focus Lens $379
Nikon Wide Angle AF Nikkor 35mm f/2.0D Autofocus Lens $309
Nikon Wide Angle AF Nikkor 28mm f/2.8D Autofocus Lens $224

Sigma Normal 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM Autofocus Lens $385
Sigma Wide Angle 28mm f/1.8 EX Aspherical DG DF Macro Autofocus Lens $269

Any suggestions or advice ?

Thanks,
floyd

I am looking for a wide prime myself. I have the 35mm f/2 and think it is a superb lens, but wanting something wider.

If you search here, I am fairly certain each of your lenses have a dedicated thread with discussion and examples. I am seriously considering a Sigma...... I know, I know, surprised as well.

Thanks. I just read a thread on the sigma 30mm 1.4 vs the nikon 35 2.
It seems a lot of people don't care for the corners on the sigma.

I am trying to decide or find threads that will help me decide between a 30mm or a 35mm focal length.

I've got the Sigma 30mm F1.4
It may be the sharpest lens I own...very good image quality.

My only issue with the lens, is that I don't think the focus is accurate, which makes shooting a F1.4 to F2.0 harder than it already is.

I would suggest the new 35mm 1.8, it's $200 and the image quality is pretty good from what i've seen.

Oh why does everything take patience ???

If comparing Nikon's it seems inprudent to get the 35 f/2 when for less money the f1.8 has a silent wave motor, and is designed for my DX sensor.
But I don't want to wait.

If you need one right now, the 35/2 is reportedly very good. The 28/2.8 D is good, too, if you want something wider.

If you can wait a month, the cheaper 35/1.8 AF-S is expected to be very good.
