Any advice on how I might have improved the shots?

#1 would have been a MUCH stronger shot had been able to see the children's faces. Something as simple as a whistle could have attracted their attention. For animals, always try and get down to their level. The last two are very nice, with #5 being the strongest of the set IMO.
