50mm 1.4 NEW** Summer

Great set of photographs. Your baby and wife are really beautiful. Last is image is very sharp.

I like #5, also. It's sharp in places, the various horizontal planes give it a surreal feeling, and your baby is cute, if not looking so happy. In all of your photos I detect exposure issues, and #2 has some processing(?) effects that do not look intentional. Someone with more technical knowledge than I surely knows what that is.

i too felt issues regarding the lighting.... i was actually wondering why so much of lighting problems...

Thanks for the comments everyone, The lighting is alot of post but I am still getting used to the crazy lighting this 1.4 brings in. Thats where all your advice comes in handy to me.

What are the settings you are using? Perhaps some are a bit too high for this capable lens?

Love that last one, the depth of field in it is just perfect.

The 50mm 1.4 is a great lens, although I just sold mine as I in pursuit of something different for a change (haven't decided what yet).

The one thing I didn't like about my one was the flare that I got when shooting into the sun, especially wide open. I usually like a bit of lens flare, but I found the shape rendered by this lens to be quite ugly.
Here are a couple of examples if you're not sure what I mean.

The reason I mention it is because i was surprised not to see any flare in any of your images, even though it appears you were shooting into the light in several of these shots.

Nope, thats just what the sun did to the lens, i kind of like the effect but i have to be careful if I am doing it for $$.
