55-300mm Nikon or 70-300mm Nikon: Please help me decide.

Well this was a no brainer... The 70-300VRII, and looks like this is what you have chosen to go for... Good decision...
I originally got one as a backup and as a carry around instead of my heavy 80-200 f/2.8 for day trips.
Other than not having f/2.8, it produces surprisingly outstanding IQ for this level of lens.
Another plus it's a FF lens if so you ever do go FX it works just as good as it does on DX...

Personally , i suggest the range of 55-300 is more suitable for D90 the APS-c frame SLR, because i was working with my 70-300 VR and find less funny that i need to always change lens. For u SLR, it could be 105mm minimune , which is quite a akward and limited range.
