Some pictures from our vacation this year..

Not sure if this one works because the water spray..Is it too distracting or is ok? I like it, but I wanted to see what others thought.

I think the water spray is the perfect amount of distracting. Your eyes dance around the drops and then return to that calm on the kids face. The focus is perfect.

I am so jealous of you BTW I went to the beach twice recently and was too embarrassed to post any of my pics.

I like both images, but I find your conversions a little muddy and heavy on the mid-tones; I'd take these back to the pixel room and see if you can't get a slightly more contrasty version of each.

You levels are quite of unless you wanted it to look like that.

Did a little simple level adjust in gimp which I hope you don't mind (No extra contrast etc)



Like the first image, the secound don't work for me much do to the horizon that is barely visible.

Interesting. I was going to suggest cropping out the horizon. I'd also prefer to have the whole shadow, but I suppose one can't have everything. Would work pretty well with the crop.

Hm... I'm with you guys on the wanting more contrast and such, but I got the impression that the originals were more of a style choice. They didn't strike me as accidental.

I liked both of the pics. The water spray in the first pic is just perfect and looks beautiful.
